On July 6, the final meeting of the Academic Council of Sumgayit State University in the current academic year was held.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the members of the Scientific Council, professors and teachers  spoke about the general results of the 2021-2022 academic year and talked about the achievements.

At the meeting, Faig Shirinov, director of the Teaching Methodological Center at the undergraduate level, associate professor Sabir Khalilov head of the department of Doctoral and master's Studies at the master's level gave extensive information to the members of the Scientific Council about the results of the examination session of the spring semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, the success indicators of individual faculties and the statistical data. The examination session of the spring semester of the 2021/2022 academic year was conducted in accordance with the order of the Minister of Education No. F-282 dated 19.05.2022 and the order No. R-24/1 of the rector of Sumgayit State University dated 19.05.2022. The exam session was held in an organized manner, the coordinators supervising the exams were informed in advance, the course of the exams was under the constant control of the university administration and deans of the faculties, the Appeals Commission and the "Examination Headquarters" operated during  the exam session.

Associate professor Matanat Pirguliyeva director of Sumgayit State Technical College under SSU  informed about the organization of exams for the college and stated that the exams of the spring semester were conducted according to the relevant instructions.

Associate professor Gafar Atayev  vice-rector for international relations  informed about the results of the delegation's visit of SSU to Ufa State Oil Technical University. He stated that the delegation of SSU participated in the 30th Anniversary Exhibition Forum "Gas-Oil-Technologies" held at USOTU, establishing relations with other delegations of the universities (Kazakhstan, Tatarstan, etc.) and Azerbaijanis living in Ufa, holding an information session with our compatriots, familiarizing about the  rules of admission to SSU to foreign citizens, as well as participation of representatives of  SSU  as a judge in the subject Olympiad held at USOTU and exchange of experience at the Salavat Institute, took an active part in the Azerbaijan Culture Days event held in Ufa.

As a proposal from the Ufa State Aviation Technical University (USATU), the details of the bilateral cooperation agreement with SSU were partially discussed and it was decided to send the delegation of  USOTU to SSU in the next semester for the preparation and approval of the final version of the cooperation agreement.

Associate professor G. Atayev also emphasized that within the framework of the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani Universities, the relations of SSU employees with the advanced universities of Russia are expanded in a bilateral and multilateral format. The vice-rector positively evaluated the participation of SSU professors and teachers in the exchange of experience in the universities of Turkey, Russia and other foreign countries  giving lectures and actively participating in joint scientific and research work.

Then the chairman of the TUC of the university associate professor Nemet Ibayev gave extensive information about the holding of a series of meetings in the regions in connection with the 60th anniversary of SSU. He said that on July 5 a group of employees of the university - Amirkhan Isayev, head of the Career center  Ali Rzazade, head teacher of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methodology Araz Mirzabayov, deputy dean of the faculty of Economics and management, and the chairman of the Student Youth Organization   Elmin Novruzlu visited the city of Guba.  They met at the meeting held at the No. 2 natural science-oriented school-lyceum named after the city Azad Mammadov, employees of the Guba-Khachmaz Regional Education Department, Guba intellectuals, district education workers who graduated from SSU in different years  met with high school students.

At the meeting, the academic secretary professor Mukhtar Samadov informed about the approval of the curricula of the new specialties added for the 2022/2023 academic year, the implementation of the decisions of the Scientific Council, and the granting of publishing rights to educational materials.

Application on behalf of the rector the documents with his resolution was submitted to Scientific Council for the granting of the academic title of docent for their scientific and pedagogical activity to Tarana Ahmadova associate professor of the department of Business Organization and management, Lala Valiyeva associate professor of the department of Economics, Buyukkhanim Eminli head of the department of Azerbaijani Language and its teaching methodology and Gunel Pashaeva associate professor of the same department. After the discussions, based on the results of the secret voting, it was decided to file a petition in the HAC for those employees to receive the title of associate professor.
