On April 29  an event called  "Dear Shusha, you are free!" was held  at the faculty of Engineering of Sumgayit State University" 

First, the memory of our heroes killed in the 44-day war was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Dean of the faculty associate professor Ulduz Agayev stressed the historical significance of the proclamation of 2022 as the "Year of Shusha" by the Order of the President of Azerbaijan. He said that in the Patriotic War  which began with the "Iron Fist" operation, Azerbaijan won by giving martyrs on the battlefield. As the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev said in his address to the nation on November 8 last year ,Shusha was liberated, “Shusha, which has been under occupation for 28 years. Shusha is free! We have returned to Shusha! We won this historic victory on the battlefield. November 8, 2020 will forever remain in the history of Azerbaijan. This history will live forever. This is the day of our glorious Victory! ” Thanks to the blood of our martyrs, the heroism of our brave sons, the unity of our army and people, the determination of our victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chie and diplomatic policy Susha was  liberated from enemy occupation today. In Shusha which was declared the cultural capital of Azerbaijan by the order of President Ilham Aliyev, construction, repair and restoration work  gained new momentum. 

 At the end of his speech dean dos. Ulduz Agayev proudly informed the participants that Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev had written the brightest and most glorious page in the new history of Shusha.

The head of the department of Information and Computer Engineering, associate professor Gadir Mansurov said that the historic victory of our army in the Great Patriotic War, the liberation of Shusha is one of the most memorable and glorious pages in the military history of Azerbaijan. With its  invincible will, high fighting spirit and courage, the Azerbaijani soldier showed the strength and power of our army to the whole world, along with the enemy  by liberating our cultural cradle  from occupation.

Then the students spoke about the nature, history, monuments and cultural environment of Shusha.

At the end of the event  the  video was shown  "Dear Shusha, you are free!".
