An international seminar was organized by the department of Economics of SSU
An international seminar on "Results of national economies in 2021" was held on April 29 with the participation of the department of  Economics of Sumgayit State University, Economic Security of Ufa State Oil and Technical University and the department of Economics of Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov.
Assoc. Prof. Lala Mahmudova, head of the department of Economics  of SSU  greeted the participants and spoke about the importance of the seminar. He said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic which spread in the world as a result of far-sighted, purposeful, pragmatic policy pursued in our country and caused economic decline in many countries, in 2021 Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 5% and the non-oil sector by 7.2%. He noted that the availability of sufficient foreign exchange reserves in the country, as well as the implementation of measures to support business have yielded positive results, and the Azerbaijani economy has suffered less than the economies of neighboring countries.
Mahammad Ahmadov senior lecturer of the department of Economics of SSU analyzed the energy sector, which was the main engine of the country's economy emphasizing that Azerbaijan once again proved itself as a reliable partner by supplying more than 7 billion cubic meters of gas to EU countries.
Olga Mamatelashvili head of the economic security department at Ufa State Oil and Technical University  said that after the dynamic recession caused a slowdown in the world economy, the Russian Federation's budget revenues increased in the first nine months of 2021. He noted that the number of vacancies increased by 24% in 2021.
Emma Shaybakova a professor at the department of Economic Security at Ufa State Oil Technical University  said that the Russian economy reduced  by 3% in 2021. Unemployment was  5.4% and the unemployment rate for 2022 would not exceed 5%.
Employees of the department of Economics of Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov Aynur Tajidennova, Meyramgul Dingaziyeva, Janargul Bisimbayeva informed about the results of the national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021 and forecasts for 2022.
The seminar continued with discussions on the topic.
