The vice-rector of SSU took part in the event organized by the Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry
On April 19, the Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Afchamber) organized a conference at ADA University on "Bridging the gap between the industrial sector and higher education." The conference was co-sponsored by the Education Committee and the Human Resources and Labor Regulatory Committee.
The purpose of the event was to identify the main challenges and expectations faced by higher education institutions and industrial companies in the training and recruitment process of industrial sector professionals. The agenda of the event also included a discussion of the work that can be done to meet the needs of the labor market and the recruitment of new content.
The directors and representatives of industrial sectors such as Alstom, Schlumberger,Total Energies participated in the conference as well as directors and human resources professionals of international and local companies, rectors, vice-rectors and representatives of career centers of the country"s leading universities in this field.
The conference began with an opening speech by French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zakari Gross and the Chamber"s Managing director Zibar Huseynova. Chairman of the State Employment Agency Mustafa Abbasbayli made a report at the conference moderated by Fariz Ismayilzade. The event continued with a presentation by AFchamber Samira Najafova, chair of the Human Resources Committee, based on a survey of industrial companies.
At the event, the guests got acquainted with the results of a survey conducted by universities, presented by the deputy chairmen of the Afchamber Education Committee Latifa Nasibova and Elvin Gasimov. At the end, an open discussion was held between industrial companies and university representatives.
It should be noted that Sumgayit State University was represented at the event by vice-rector for International Relations, associate professor Gafar Atayev.
