On February 10, an online presentation "Strategic Road Map" was held with the participation of Sumgait State University in international rankings. The event was attended by members of the rectorate headed by prof. Elkhan Huseynov. Vice-Rector for International Relations Gafar Atayev spoke about the importance of the event and noted that the “State Program for Improving the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023”, approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, cooperation agreements with the international rating agency QS Quacquarelli Symonds in 2021 2020, as well as the decision of the SSU Academic Council dated January 24, 2020, set certain goals and objectives for the university.

Then the speech was given to the head of the department of international cooperation and foreign students Sadagat Fatullayeva.

Sadagat Fatullayeva made a presentation on the indicators of international rating systems and noted that the most immediate goal is the transition to concrete practical actions.

She also emphasized the necessity to register on the Google Scholar social science network in order to increase scientometric indicators covering a wider audience.

The event continued with an active discussion, as a result of which specific proposals were made to address the challenges ahead.

In conclusion, the rector of the university prof. Elkhan Huseynov highly appreciated the holding of such events and instructed to create a working group headed by the adviser to the rector Zafar Huseynov to move work in this direction into an active.
