On December 10, a cooperation agreement was signed between Sumgayit State University and Lankaran State University.

The meeting was attended by the rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, vice-rectors, deans and the rector of Lankaran State University, Professor Natig Ibrahimov.

Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the guests and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with Lankaran State University. He noted that the agreement will create favorable conditions for strengthening relations between the two universities and give impetus to the implementation of scientific projects. The rector gave detailed information about the activities of the higher education institution, the education, the teaching process and the achievements. He noted that regional universities play an active role not only in education, teaching and research, but also in the development of economic, social and cultural environment in the region.

In addition to providing quality education, research and knowledge-oriented higher education institutions also play an active role in the economic, social and cultural development of the regions, contributing to the labor market and employment. Thanks to the historical services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the attention and care of his political successor, President Ilham Aliyev, Sumgayit State University has become an influential scientific and educational center of the country and the region. Various projects for the development of human resources are being implemented at Sumgayit State University, which ensures the formation of the scientific and cultural elite of our city, as well as the region, and significant achievements are being made.

Rector of Lankaran State University, Professor Natig Ibrahimov expressed his deep gratitude to the rector of SSU, Professor Elkhan Huseynov for the warm welcome and the cooperation agreement to be signed. Rector Natig Ibrahimov spoke about the work done at Lankaran State University in recent years, the new specialties opened. He noted the importance of projects implemented in the field of science and education between universities, student-teacher exchange, and stressed the need to further intensify relations.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov on behalf of Sumgayit State University and Rector Natig Ibrahimov on behalf of Lankaran State University.

It was noted that the cooperation agreement to be signed will contribute to the formation of the country's human resources, socio-economic and cultural revival of the regions. Academic cooperation of teachers, doctoral students, masters and students during the agreement, organization of internships of masters and bachelors, mutual recognition of credits, exchange of experience on application and development of advanced teaching methods, joint research in relevant areas, symposium, seminar, scientific-practical conference, round table, teleconference and other issues are covered in the agreement.
