Today marks the 70th anniversary of the birth of Gadir Mansurov, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Information and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Sumgayit State University. Born in the summer of 1951 in the village of Golkand, Goycha district, West Azerbaijan, Gadir Muallim studied at the Physics Department of the Azerbaijan State University (now BSU) in 1968-1973. In 1973-1996 he was engaged in scientific activity at the Shamakhi Astrophysics Observatory of ANAS, Neftgazavtomat, Leningrad State Optical Institute, Leningrad Institute of Precise Mechanics and Optics. In 1996, he commenced to work at Sumgayit State University. Dedicating his whole life to the training of young specialists, Gadir Muallim lived an honorable life, as a worthy intellectual. He did his best to form the country"s human resources. For this reason, in 2017 he was awarded the Order of Honor on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of SSU.

On behalf of the numerous professors, teachers and students of the university, we congratulate Associate Professor Gadir Mansurov on his long-term and effective scientific and pedagogical activity, active participation in the public life of the university and the 70th anniversary of his birth.

A scientist who has devoted most of his life to the teaching of information and computer technology, scientific research in this field and the training of qualified personnel, he is the author of dozens of textbooks and teaching aids and numerous scientific articles. The greatness of a scientist is determined by his intellect, personnel, contributions to science, and scientific works written by him. From this point of view, the glorious life of the prominent Azerbaijani scientist, associate professor Gadir Mansurov is a clear example of scientific service. It should be noted that the scientist was awarded a number of prizes for his rationalization proposals and inventions.

We once again congratulate esteemed Gadir Mansurov on his 70th anniversary and wish him a long life, good health and new success in his scientific and pedagogical activities!
