On May 16, Amina Hasanova, Associate Professor of Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science, organized an online seminar on "The Right to Education" for students who are members of the Socialist Law Club, organized by the Faculty of History and Geography of Sumgayit State University.

Students of Sumgayit State University, Baku State University, Nakhchivan State University, Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Customs Academy took part in the seminar.

Associate Professor Amina Hasanova greeted the seminar participants, spoke about the topicality of the seminar and notified that national leader Heydar Aliyev attached special importance to youth, their education and development, involvement of young people in public administration. President Ilham Aliyev was always interested in issues of concern to our youth, preferred to promote young people to senior positions in government agencies. She noted that education in the Republic of Azerbaijan is secular and continuous, reflecting the interests of citizens, society and the state, is a strategically important priority area of activity. Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan is based on international conventions on human rights and other international treaties to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a party, and develops by integrating into the world education system on the basis of the priority of national-moral and universal values in the field of education.

The seminar provided participants with detailed information on the right to education, analyzed issues of education law, and made suggestions for improving the legislation on these norms. Also, similarities and differences in the legislation of foreign countries on the right to education were analyzed comparatively. It was noted that the main purpose of the education legislation is to ensure and protect the constitutional rights of citizens in the field of education, the correct definition of the rights and responsibilities of executive bodies, students and educators, individuals and legal entities, regulation of relations between them.

At the end of the seminar, there was an exchange of views on the topic, questions were answered.
