An online event on "Heydar Aliyev is the savior of the Azerbaijani people" was held on May 7 at the Faculty of Economics and Management of Sumgayit State University.

The memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with a minute of silence.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Associate Professor Aynura Yahyayeva, who spoke about the glorious life of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, his rich activities, the mission of salvation, the unparalleled services of the Azerbaijani people in difficult times. She noted that today the brightest pages of the history of Azerbaijan's independence are being written. President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continues the political line of the great leader in our country, has brought Azerbaijan to a new stage of development. A strong army and strong economic potential have made Azerbaijan a reliable partner and leader in the region and the world. Azerbaijan is already showing its model in all areas of development in the world.

The dean also noted that on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, all measures have been taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the country and to protect the health of the population. As a result of urgent measures taken by the head of state for the welfare of the people, our country, unlike many other countries, has survived the social and economic crisis.

The head of the Department of World Economy and Marketing, Associate Professor Malahat Panahaliyeva spoke on the topic "Heydar Aliyev is the savior of the Azerbaijani people", as well as Professor of the Department Shafa Aliyev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Finance and Accounting Lyudmila Ismayilova delivered speech in the event. In accordance with its ancient and eternal principles, he brought our country to progress and our people to happy days. Both foreign and domestic policy pursued by Mr. Ilham Aliyev is a continuation of Heydar Aliyev's actions. At the heart of this policy is the development of Azerbaijan's economy and the well-being of its population. As long as Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people exist, the deeds and ideas of Heydar Aliyev will always live and be preserved.

There was a wide exchange of views on the report, which was met with great interest by students and staff of the faculty.
