On May 6, the next meeting of the scientific seminar of doctoral students and dissertators dedicated to the 880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi "Light of the word" was organized by the Department of Azerbaijani and foreign countries’ literature of the Faculty of Philology of Sumgayit State University.

The seminar was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Associate Professor Sevinj Hamzayeva, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani and Foreign Literature Professor Avtandil Mammadov, Professor of the Department Rafig Aliyev, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Professor Nigar Isgandarova, and faculty members.

The seminar was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Associate Professor Sevinj Hamzayeva, who greeted the guests and participants of the event, gave information about the scientific seminar and wished success to the next seminar dedicated to the 880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi.

Then, the head of the department of Azerbaijani and foreign countries’ literature, Professor Avtandil Mammadov informed about the content and essence of the seminar, which, like many scientific, educational and cultural events this year, is dedicated to the 880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi. Noting that the seminar was organized by the decision of the meeting of the department of Azerbaijani and foreign countries’ literature, Mr. Avtandil noted that the purpose of the seminar is to bring together doctoral students and dissertators of the department, get acquainted with the results of their research, free discussion and speech skills. He noted that four of our young researchers will present their scientific results at today's seminar. Then the floor was given to the speakers.

Afterwards the seminar featured the speeches: Zohra Gafarova, senior lecturer of the department of Azerbaijani and foreign countries’ literature spoke on "Some mystical researches in modern poetry", Aynura Babayeva, PhD student of the department of Azerbaijani and foreign countries’ literature on "Karabakh theme in the works of Mustafa Chamenli", Humay Mardanli, PhD student of the Department on "Manifestation of the problem of man and society in the novel of Friedrich Durrenmatz", Lamiya Ismayilova, a tutor of the Faculty of Philology, and PhD student of the Department spoke on "National-moral values in Tofig Mahmud's legends".

Each speaker was asked questions by the participants, and issues of interest were discussed and debated.

At the end of the seminar, the speakers thanked the rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov for his attention and support to the development of science and the formation of young scientists in this educational institution. At the same time, they stressed the importance of such seminars for doctoral students and dissertators held at the Department of Azerbaijani and Foreign Countries’ Literature, as well as at the Faculty of Philology, support their future scientific work, help them to properly speak in front of the academic audience and reduce anxiety.

The seminar continued with discussions on the topic.
