A MEETING WITH THE FAMILIES OF MARTYRS AND VETERANS HELD AT SSU ON "HOMELAND STARTING FROM ENDING BREATH"

On January 7, an event was organized by the Student Youth Organization of SSU on the ZOOM platform "Homeland Starting from Ending Breath" in order to educate young people and increase their patriotic spirit. The event, which was attended by more than 700 teachers and students, featured the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War. The event began with the artistic part. The moderators of the event - students of the Faculty of Philology Natavan Rustamova and Nazrin Tagizadeh greeted the participants and spoke about the history of the Great Patriotic War. The unfinished performance of the martyr Khudayar Yusifzadeh "Motherland is good" was completed by our students - 4th year student of the Faculty of Economics and Management Ali Aliyev, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Philology Aytaj Heydarova. Our students sounded the expression "Karabakh is Azerbaijan!" in 6 languages. President Ilham Aliyev"s address to the people on the liberation of the occupied territories was also shown on video. Then the students spoke on behalf of the liberated lands and sang "Karabakh shikastasi". Elmar Khalilov, Associate Professor of the Faculty of History and Geography of the University, Deputy Chairman of the YAP Sumgayit city organization for youth affairs, congratulated the participants on the glorious Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. He noted that the people of Azerbaijan are deeply grateful to the soldiers and officers of our Army for the liberation of our lands. He said that when Azerbaijan launched large-scale counter-offensives on September 27 in response to another provocation by the enemy, it relied on its strong economy and strong army, which had been created over the past 17 years. Thus, the people of Azerbaijan have written another glorious page of their turbulent history. Our Shusha, the crown of Karabakh, has returned to its historical owner. We have proved once again that no force can turn us away from the right path. The first steps taken by President Ilham Aliyev on the morning of September 27 - the decree on the declaration of martial law, the appeal to the people, the meeting of the Security Council and the delivery of his speech to our citizens - lit a beacon of hope for everyone. Within minutes, Azerbaijan turned into a fist. Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov stressed that our victory in the Great Patriotic War was due to the heroism, great patience and wise policy of our brave sons, veterans and martyrs. He noted that Sumgayit State University is proud of every student and graduate who took part in the Great Patriotic War. Then Maleyka Mammadzade, mother of Sumgayit’s and Azerbaijan"s Honorary Martyr Jabrayil Dovletzade, who took revenge on General Polad Hashimov by strangling the enemy with her own hands, Teyyuba Ganimatov, sister of Martyr Atraf Ganimatov, a graduate of Sumgayit State University, Parviz Mammadzadeh, a childhood friend and relative of our heroic doctor Turgut Khalilbayli, and veteran Nejmaddin Mehdiyev, who was wounded in the battles for Shusha, spoke at the event and expressed their satisfaction with the meeting. They spoke about the heroic struggle of Azerbaijani heroes and noted that the bravery of our Army will never be erased from the memory of the Azerbaijani people. They noted that from the first day of military operations, the citizens of Azerbaijan were closely united around the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, and the PresidentialPeople"s-Army Union laid the foundation for our victory. It was noted at the event that the memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and sovereignty of the Motherland will always live in our hearts.
