Urgent measures are being taken to prevent the threat of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in Azerbaijan. Taking into account the suspension of classes due to the necessary measures related to the coronavirus, in accordance with the instructions and recommendations of the Ministry of Education, the teaching process at Sumgayit State University is organized online. At the same time, the Student Youth Organization of the university continues its activities online and organizes meetings. As a result of their meetings with the online psychology club, intellectual game, book conversation, art clubs, the members of the organization demonstrate their unity and determination. On March 29, the Student Youth Organization of Sumgayit State University celebrated its 15th anniversary online.

Chairman of the Student Youth Organization of Sumgayit State University Tayfun Hajili congratulated the members of the organization on the anniversary. He noted that the development of education in our country, increasing the interest of young people in education and improving the social situation of students has always been in the focus of our state. He also noted that after the complete recovery of the Coronavirus (COVID - 19) infection from the territory of Azerbaijan, the 15-year activity of the Student Youth Organization will be celebrated at Sumgayit State University. Tayfun Hajili also notified that students of many higher education institutions operating in our country congratulated the 15th anniversary of the Student Youth Organization of Sumgayit State University and wished success in their activities.

It should be noted that, in accordance with the Order № 41 of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 15, 2005, by the Order № 89 of the Ministry of Education dated February 28, 2005, the founding conference of the Youth Organization was held at SSU on March 29, 2005. The main purpose of the organization is to represent and protect the interests of students and each student individually in the implementation of the State Youth Policy, to ensure their active participation in the social, cultural, socio-economic life of the republic. Today, SSU has all kinds of opportunities in accordance with the interests, desires and abilities of young people. A modern sports complex, a rich library, a large assembly hall, various clubs for those with skills in the field of art, etc. are at the disposal of students.

The organization also works with government agencies in cooperation with non-governmental and international organizations to achieve prompt solutions to issues related to education and students. At present, the Student Youth Organization at SSU continues the measures online taken to effectively organize the leisure time of youth, to educate them in the spirit of statehood, to increase the spirit of patriotism.
