On December 21, a group of alumni of Sumgayit State University, who graduated in 1984 with a degree in chemical technology, met again after 35 years at this native institution. They once again remembered their teachers, sat in the auditorium, experiencing student moments, recalling their youthful years with grey hair.

The graduates first met with the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov. The rector said he was pleased to see the alumni together and said that most of the young people who graduated from our university are qualified and well-trained professionals with different positions in our country.

The graduates then met with the dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, associate professor Mahal Muradov. He spoke about the achievements of the faculty over the past period, the work done to bring education to world standards, and the expansion of foreign relations. While noting the success of the alumni, he emphasized that the faculty continues to maintain the most beautiful traditions. Alumni toured the auditoriums and saw how the university changed dramatically. Rebuilding the labs, creating a new type of laboratory with extensive research capabilities gave them a sense of pride.

Alumni spoke in the auditorium where they had been sitting for years. Gulaya Seyidova senior lecturer at the Department of Ecology of SSU, Miryusif Seyidov head of Office in the Ministry of Social Security, Nafig Beydullayev deputy director of Ethylene-Polyethylene Plant, Ilgar Mammadov director of “Rabitasanaye” LLC, Sahib Isgandarov head of Baku Food Fat Factory, Najiba Yusifova teacher of Baku secondary school No 115, Mehpara Karimova SOCAR security engineer, Samad Ibrahimov Audit specialist in Department of Finance, Chemistry teacher Basti Hajiyeva, Head of Technical Department of Organic Synthesis Plant Maksuda Guliyeva, environmental engineer of the plant Rafiga Hasanova and others expressed their deep gratitude to the university administration for the attention they showed.
