On December 13, a traditional open day was held at Sumgayit State University. It was attended by members of Public control and the advisory board of the administration, parents of students and representatives of the media.

The guests were met by the vice-rector docent Ramiz Huseynov. He said that SSU has traditionally held "Open door” days." All conditions have been created here so that parents can become more familiar with the process of conducting both classes and exams. This provides transparency and objectivity in assessing students" knowledge.

Vice-rector R. Huseynov told the guests about the activities of the university, its international relations. It was noted that in order to integrate into the European educational space, SSU cooperates with leading universities in the East, Europe and Slavic countries. The Vice-rector informed the guests in detail about the structural and training programs, as well as about the activities carried out within the framework of the Twinning project. The EU-funded Twinning project “Supporting Higher Education in Azerbaijan” and implemented in partnership with France, Lithuania, Latvia and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, makes a worthy contribution to the development of the higher education system. In the framework of the Twinning project, seminars and trainings are held at the university, representatives of interested structures are involved in the introspection process. The development of the educational process is also facilitated by the holding of joint events with various scientific and industrial organizations, the creation of a modern infrastructure, the optimization of management, the strengthening of the library, the activities of the Dissertation Council, the improvement of periodic scientific publications, the quality organization of continuing education courses, attracting competent youth to work and turning the university into educational, research and innovation center.

The vice-rector also noted that the classrooms and laboratories of the university are equipped with equipment that meets modern standards, all buildings are thoroughly repaired.

Then, parents, together with media workers, visited faculties and watched the process of conducting classes, visited educational and research laboratories. Dean of the Faculty of Engineering docent Ulduz Aghayev informed the guests in detail about the new laboratories created at the faculty. He noted that for the department of Information and computer technology, 4 stands were purchased for the laboratories "Electronics" and "Microprocessor control and digital systems." 6 stands were purchased for training laboratories "Instrumentation", "Programmable logic controllers and" Studying automation technology and regulation systems" of the Process automation department. It should be noted that in these laboratories, students acquire knowledge and skills in regulatory techniques, programmable logic controllers, technological measurements, and sensor systems.

Deputy dean of the Faculty of Physics and Electricity Naila Sardarova told the guests about the work done at the faculty and equipment purchased for new laboratories. She noted that new equipment was received from Germany, thanks to which more than 12 laboratory works can be performed on semiconductor physics, more than 50 on the basics of electric machines, and more than 15 on electric machines. The new laboratories of the faculty will allow students to perform laboratory work in the specialty "Process Automation Engineering", as well as in the subjects "Fundamentals of Electrical Machines" and "Power Electronics and Drive Control".

The guests got acquainted with the Educational Museum on Electrical Engineering in the open air and the Training Ground for High-Voltage Substations, the Linguistic Center, where language training of students is free of charge, the Heydar Aliyev Center, a scientific library, a sports hall, a football ground, volleyball, badminton and table tennis courts, arbors for board games.

Parents thanked the university leadership for the created conditions and wished the university staff success in their work.
