From September 9 to 13, the following expert mission implemented to Azerbaijan within the activity of “Holding training for international evaluators and establishing trained expert bank” of the project of “Support to strengthening higher education in Azerbaijan” of European Union Twinning program. The mission conducted by Rasa Penkauskiene, the head of Institutional evaluation department of Center for Quality Evaluation in Higher Education of Lithuania and Jolanta Silka, director of Agency for Quality in Higher Education of Latvia. The mission aims to hold trainings for international experts and establish expert bank for accreditation department on international evaluation. Those who participated in the trainings will be involved to simulative program evaluation which will be enforced in pilot universities by Twinning project. Professors and lecturers of pilot and non-pilot higher education institutions of Twinning project and independent education experts took part in 3-day trainings. Instructor-experts of Twinning project informed the participants about targets and goals of accreditation of education programs and also about the document “Methodology on Program Accreditation”.

The training covered the following topics as well: duties and rules of manner of international evaluators, rules of working with self-analysis report, methods of conducting interviews, rules of writing evaluation rules and other factors of pilot evaluation. Simulations carried out in practical part of trainings on conducting interviews and giving recommendations to universities.

It is worth to note that Sumgayit State University was represented in the trainings by candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, docent Qadir Mansurov, head of the Department of Information and Computer technics.
