In “Development strategy of Azerbaijani youth in 2015-2025” approved by Order of President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev dated January 26, 2015, it is intended to rouse teenagers’ interest in science and education in in early ages and execute various events for this purpose. According to resolution dated 14.09.2018 of Scientific Board of Sumgayit State University, employees of University regularly hold meetings at secondary schools of the city, as well as secondary school students are invited to the university. Lecturers of Mathematics faculty actively participate in these events, liaise with pedagogical collective of Sumgayit city secondary schools and arrange meetings. As a result of these meetings, more entrants are admitted to Sumgayit State University year after year.

On April 3, some lecturers of Mathematics faculty met with pupils of school № 11 of Sumgayit city.

Chairwoman of Department of Mathematics and its teaching methods docent Khalida Hasanova, docent of Department of Mathematical analysis and functions theory Khalil Aliyev, senior lecturers of Department of Mathematics and its teaching methods Novrasta Bayramova, Vusala Suleymanova, PhD candidate of Department of Differential equations and optimization Nijat Hasanli took part in the meeting.

Launching the event, principal of the secondary school Ilaha Hasanli spoke about state care to education since the administration of national leader Heydar Aliyev and achievements gained in education. She also noted that talented alumni of the school: Laman Aliyeva, Rovshan Sardarli and Aydan Aliyeva have chosen Sumgayit State University.

Then, chairwoman of Department of Mathematics and its teaching methods docent Khalida Hasanova delivered speech and notified that financial allocations from the budget to education is in the second place after military field. In consequence, science and education are advancing rapidly. Education system of our country is the most advanced system in CIS. Rector of Sumgayit State University Professor Elkhan Huseynov also calls special attention to the development of education and teaching process.

At the end, promotion video and presentation materials of Sumgayit State University were displayed in the meeting on information about education opportunities, laboratories, and material-technical equipment of the university. University’s Heydar Aliyev Center, auditoria, subject laboratories, electron library, sport club and foreign language courses at Linguistic Center drew special attention of pupils.

Then, the lecturers responded pupils’ questions. This kind of meetings will be arranged regularly at the secondary schools of Sumgayit city.
