SSU HOLDS THE MEETING WITH SCHOLARS DEDICATED TO “SCIENCE DAY”
On April 3, Sumgayit State University held a meeting with outstanding scholars by the organization of Physics and electroenergetics faculty on occasion of Science day.
Director of Radiation Problems Institute of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS, professor, doctor of physico-mathematical sciences Ogtay Samadov, laboratory heads of the Institute and professor-teacher and student staff of University took part in the meeting.
Vice-rector on Correspondent, Distant and Extra education docent Gafar Atayev hailed guests and attendees and emphasized importance of the event. He noted: “A series of events are held related to March 27 – Science day, according to Action plan of Sumgayit State University. Significant decisions have been made in our country in the direction of advancement of science, preserving and modernizing scientific-technical potential, preparing specialized cadres in science and education, raising reputation of scientists, education workers. It is not coincidence that XXI century is called science and education century by UNESCO”.
Director of Radiation Problems Institute of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS Ogtay Samadov delivered speech and spoke about state care to advancement of science and education in our country, activity directions of the Institute, which he leads, executed works and international relations. He notified that the scientist’s reputation has increased in our society, substantial achievements have been gained as well due to the care shown to our education. The director emphasized that cooperation will go on with Sumgayit State University in the sphere of research and cadre preparation.
Head of laboratory of Energy-efficient Radiation Processes of Radiation Problems Institute, doctor of chemical sciences, professor, correspondent member of ANAS Islam Mustafayev; head of Radiobiology laboratory, doctor of biological sciences Elmkhan Jafarov; head of laboratory of Radiation Physics of Semiconductors, doctor of physico-mathematical sciences, Professor Rahim Madatov, head of laboratory of Energy-intensive Radiation Processes, candidate of chemical sciences Hokman Mahmudov, leading researcher of the Institute Nushaba Hajiyeva delivered speech in the meeting and pointed out research works conducted in the laboratories and gained achievements.
