On April 3, Sumgayit State University held the round table on “Social welfare and justice – a strategic line of state policy” in Heydar Aliyev Center.

Executive director of Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication Vusal Gasimli, members of parliament Ali Masimli, Tahir Mirkishili, Rufat Guliyev, member of YAP Political Board, member of parliament Aydin Huseynov, chairman of Board of Directors of Center for Economic and Social Development Vugar Bayramov, professor-teaching and student staff of University took part in the meeting.

Rector of University Professor Elkhan Huseynov hailed the guests and expressed his satisfaction on seeing the guests in the University. He notified that the principal function of every country is to organize social defense of population and improve social welfare of citizens. President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev speaking about fundamental directions of state building said: “Independent society, legal state, law supremacy, strong economy, versatile foreign policy, preserving and strengthening Azerbaijani interests are the essential directions of statehood”. Decrees and orders have been issued at the beginning of this year for bettering social welfare of population. Rise of minimum wage, pensions, scholarship of students and other payments is a part of big social packet presented by President Ilham Aliyev.

They noted that the projects carried out in socio-economic and political field under administration of Ilham Aliyev unfold great opportunities and new perspectives for all-round advancement of our country. New stage of economic development is characterized by improvement of non-oil sector and entrepreneurship, reducing level of poverty and opening many workplaces. Infrastructure objects are modernizing via state investments. Service, communication and information technologies, transport, tourism sectors are advancing as potential fields of non-oil sector.
