On March 12, the meeting was held with outstanding scholars of our Republic and student-teaching staff on “Solution ways of ecological problems of Azerbaijan” by the organization of Department of ecology of Chemistry and Biology faculty according to Order of President on declaring March 27- Science day.

Associate member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, doctor of chemical sciences, professor Islam Mustafayev, Department head of philosophy of continuous development of Philosophy Institute of ANAS Professor Sakit Huseynov, faculty dean docent Mahal Muradov, chairwoman of Department of ecology docent Rahila Ahmadova and student-teaching staff took part in the meeting.

After hailing the guests, docent Mahal Muradov spoke about significance of the meeting. He wished continuation of such kind of meetings between scientific enterprises and higher education institutions in order to strengthen integration of science and education and reinforce their cooperation.

Chairwoman of Department of ecology docent Rahila Ahmadova delivered speech and notified that socio-economic development strategy recently executed in our country stimulated operative solution of ecological problems, implementation of effective works in direction of protection of environment. Special care of country administration to ecological issues and achievements gained in socio-economic life of state will give its results in implementation of events directed to ameliorate the environment.

The following persons delivered presentation in the event: associate member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, doctor of chemical sciences, professor Islam Mustafayev – “National priorities in the sphere of protection of environment”, Department head of philosophy of continuous development of Philosophy Institute of ANAS Professor Sakit Huseynov – “Philosophy of continuous development conception”. They noted that sustainable development is the development that provides needs of modern period without putting the resources of future generation in danger. Ecological aspects of this development cover the objects in the fields of ocean and sea resources, climate changes, environment, management of wastes, ecosystems and biodiversity.

Afterwards, they exchanged views around the topic.
