Adopting and applying the latest technologies for advancement of education and science is successfully implemented at Sumgayit State University. Relevant works executed in direction of increasing education quality. Auditoriums, laboratories and subject cabinets set up. Recently special cabinets established in History and Geography faculty for provision of students with visual aids. Thus, subject cabinet set up about Azerbaijani history in auditorium № 238, by the organization of Department of Azerbaijani and Eastern European nations’ history. The priority is given in the cabinet to the maps of Azerbaijani states from ancient times till now and portraits of political figures who have special role in establishment of those states. The photos of monuments of material culture in Azerbaijani states are hung in the cabinet. One can gain enough information about Azerbaijani states and their territories here.

In addition, there is information in the cabinet about coats of arms of Azerbaijani Provinces and cities in Char Russia authority, the maps, political figures, medals, badges and currency of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

The portraits of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, as well as pictures of Azerbaijani flag, coat of arms, medals, badges and national currency are displayed, relating to modern period.

We consider that the subject cabinet will have a positive impact on students to improve their love and interest to Homeland history.
