According to the decision of the Scientific Council of SSU dated 29.03.2017, the Department of Philosophy and Law and the Department of Sociology and Political Science were merged to form the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science, and since then, the department has been headed by Rzaguliyeva Savvara Devlet gizi, candidate of philosophy, associate professor.

Huseynov, 0.5 state professor of the department, was awarded the ‘Progress’medal on February 11, 2000, the jubilee medal on the occasion of the ‘90th anniversary of diplomatic services of the Republic of Azerbaijan’ on July 24, 2009, and the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 22, 2017 mainly with the Order of ‘Glory’, head of the department associate professor S.D.
