On April 5, students of Sumgait State University's History and Geography Faculty Group No. 827 held an event dedicated to the 8th anniversary of the April Battles at Zulfi Hajiyev Secondary School No. 17 and Mathematics Faculty Group No. 432 at Secondary School No. 35.
First, the dear memory of our martyrs who passed away in the April battles, as well as for the integrity of our land, was commemorated with a minute of silence.
At the events, our students gave detailed information about the progress and results of the April battles. They talked about the causes of the April battles, the fact that the Azerbaijani soldiers showed heroic examples during these battles and dealt devastating and crushing blows to the enemy. They emphasized that the victory won in the April battles was the beginning of the great Victory we achieved during the successful ‘Gunnut’ operation, the Tovuz battles, the Patriotic War, as well as local anti-terrorist measures.
Rena Rufullayeva, director of secondary school No. 17 named after Zulfi Hajiyev, awarded our students with certificates of honor for organizing the event at a high level.
