Ismayil Teyyub oglu Ismayilov was born on August 6, 1984 in Baku city in an intellectual family.

He graduated from secondary school in 2001 with honors.

As the winner of the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad held in Moscow in 2001, M.V. He was admitted to the faculty of Chemistry of the Lomonosov Moscow State University without an exam and in 2006 he successfully defended his diploma thesis on "The effect of oxidation-reduction processing on the properties of nanodiamonds synthesized by detonation" at the department of "Petrochemistry and Organic Catalysis" and graduated a "chemist" specialist at the university. In 2005, when he was studying in the 4th year of the university, he actively participated in the preparation of the questions of the Republican Chemistry Olympiad held in Azerbaijan between the 9th and 11th grades.

He continued his education at the post-graduate level in Moscow through the state line, and in 2011, in order to receive a PhD in chemistry, he wrote his dissertation on "Methanol conversion over copper-containing cerium-zirconium catalysts for the purpose of obtaining hydrogen for fuel cells" in "Petroleum Chemistry" and "Chemical "kinetics and catalysis"- at the junction of specializations.

Also, continuing his scientific work in Moscow under the state line, M.V. He completed his dissertation work at the faculty of Chemistry of Lomonosov Moscow State University and at the Institute of Petrochemical Processes named after Academician Yusif Mammadaliyev of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on the topic "Creation of new reagents with anti-corrosion, multifunctional, biocidal activity based on environmentally friendly raw materials" in "Petroleum Chemistry" and "Chemical Technology" and engineering" in 2017 at the age of 32, and was awarded the scientific degree of doctor of sciences in chemistry.

In total, he is the author of more than 110 scientific works, including 3 patents and 1 monograph. More than 40 scientific works have been published in prestigious scientific journals of the world.

The multifunctional reagents created as a result of the scientific works were applied in the composition form of bactericides, corrosion inhibitors and salt precipitation inhibitors in "Shirvan" operation and "Binagadi" oil companies.

He started his career as a chemist-specialist in Moscow, then at Institute of Petrochemical Processes named after academician Y.H. Mammadaliyev he worked as a leading researcher, chief technologist, and chief researcher, and was appointed rector to advisor at Sumgayit State University on December 4, 2023.

Ismayil Ismayilov continues his scientific activity at the Institute of Petrochemical Processes named after academician Y.Mammadaliyev.

He is a member of the New Azerbaijan Party.
