On December 27, the last meeting of the Scientific Council of Sumgayit State University for the year 2023 was held.

Rector of the university Rufat Azizov greeted the council members and declared the meeting open.

He talked about the important events that happened in the life of the university in the current academic year, the tasks that lie ahead and expressed his good wishes to the entire staff of SSU on the occasion of December 31, the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year holiday.

Before starting the discussion of the issues on the agenda, the rector congratulated associate professor Elshad Abdullayev, who was appointed to the position of vice-rector for Science and innovations of Sumgayit State University according to the order of Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev dated 22.12.2023 No. 3-29/3-1-1529K/2023 , wished success in his activities.

In accordance with the agenda, Rector's adviser, associate professor Konul Abasli, spoke about the discussion and approval of the Action Plan prepared based on the recommendations indicated in the final report of the Accreditation Commission. She stated that in accordance with the implementation periods indicated in the Action Plan, the fulfillment of all the issues envisaged was entrusted to the faculty deans, heads of departments and other heads of structures.

Associate professor Elshad Abdullayev spoke about the state of preparation for the exam session of the fall semester of the 2023/2024 academic year.

During the exam session, the objective, accurate and prompt investigation of the dissatisfaction of students who disagree with the exam results in the Appellate Commission of the university with the participation of the subject teacher and the head of the department. The supervision of the implementation of the tasks and recommendations arising from his order regarding the organization and holding of the session was assigned to associate professor Natig Talibov, vice-rector for Education organization and training technologies, and to the timely and prompt investigation of students' complaints, opinions and suggestions and the taking of appropriate measures was assigned to the chairman of the Examination headquarters, associate professor Elshad Abdullayev.

In connection with the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev", Vice Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations Elmar Khalilov made a final report on the events held at SSU. He noted that all events planned at SSU in connection with the declaration of 2023 as "Year of Heydar Aliyev" were held at a high level and were covered on SSU's official internet portal and social networks.

Vice-Rector for Economic affairs Naib Hajiyev spoke about increasing the salaries of professors and teachers of Sumgayit State University, and it was considered appropriate to partially increase the salaries of professors and teachers.

In the discussion of various issues, the approval of the Statue and the staff table of the SSU Career and graduation employment Center in the new editorial office.

Decisions were made regarding the discussed issues, appropriate tasks were given to the heads of the structure, and the next meeting of the Scientific Council ended.
