In December of the current year, a group of students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of Sumgait State University visited a number of industrial enterprises under the guidance of associate professor Rahila Ahmadova, head of the Department of Ecology.

The visit, which took place within the framework of the cooperation of SSU with SOCAR, started from the Ethylene-Polyethylene Plant belonging to ‘Azerikimya’ production union. Here, students got acquainted with the general rules of training, special signs, rules of behavior during a dangerous situation and other issues. Later, the responsible representatives of the enterprise introduced the students to the general processes and devices of the plant, the laboratories where the cleaning and separation processes are carried out, their working principle and gave effective information on topics such as the organization of statistics. The main goal was for the students to become more familiar with the methods of wastewater treatment, the work being done in the direction of obtaining the ethylene-propylene, butylene-butadiene fraction.

On the excursion to the State Agrarian Services Agency (SASA), the students were joined by members of the university"s eco club.

After a general introduction to the students and questions, the specialists from the SASA staff gave detailed information about the laboratory conditions and the processes taking place here, the preparation of equipment and standards used for the method of determining the pH of the soil, determination of soil salinity, types of seeds, cultivation rules, counting and storage of seeds, technical they explained the rules of analysis and chemical analysis.
