SSU IN THE INTERNATIONAL RANKING OF "UI GREEN METRIC"
On December 5, the results of the international rating system of "UI Green Metric" for 2023 were announced. The name of Sumgayit State University was included in this ranking for the first time.
"UI Green Metric" is the first rating created as a voluntary standard to improve university infrastructure worldwide, to measure the sustainability of universities' activities and impact on society.
The "Green metric" rating, which is used to evaluate universities, mainly evaluates higher education institutions on 39 indicators and 6 criteria to measure the issues of sustainability and environmental impact. The total score of SSU is 1425 in this ranking, which ranks HEI according to their influence on infrastructure, energy and climate change, education and research, water and transport resources. By participating in the ranking, universities, as members of the automatic global network, contribute to the rise of the international reputation of the higher education institution by bringing its sustainability policy and activities to the global arena.
Currently, Azerbaijan is represented by 4 universities in this ranking, in which HEI participates from 30 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America and Europe.
