The all-republic olympiad on "Taxes" dedicated to the memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev among students of higher education institutions started with the joint organization of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy and "PWC Azerbaijan" company. The main purpose of holding the Olympiad was to instill knowledge in the field of taxation among students of higher education institutions in the "Year of Heydar Aliyev", as well as to increase interest in the field of taxation. 492 students from 22 universities of the country took part in the first stage of the competition held on May 11, 12 and 16 in Baku city and regions, including higher education institutions of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The Olympiad was held in two stages, consisting of selection and final round. At the initial stage, students tested their knowledge and skills on taxes by answering the presented questions in the format of a test exam. The selection round stage of the Olympiad was prepared by the Training Center of the State Tax Service according to the degree of complexity of the tax system and tax legislation and was conducted on the basis of the submitted test questions. 5 students from each university with the highest results above 50 points passed for the final stage of the competition at this stage.

Students of Sumgayit State University's faculty of Economics and management, Sabina Mehraliyeva, Agil Nagiyev, Fidan Rahmanova, Esmira Amiraslanova and Mirida Ismayilova, achieved a high score of over 50 points and qualified for the final stage. Candidates who were successful in the selection round will visit the Training Center located in Shamakhi district in June, where they will compete in the final round.
