AN EVENT WAS HELD ON THE TOPIC "SHUSHA, THE TEMPLE OF AZERBAIJANI CULTURE" AT THE FACULTY OF HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY OF SSU
On May 15, under the organization of the department of Philosophy, sociology and political science of the faculty of History and geography of Sumgayit State University, an event was held on the topic "Shusha, the temple of Azerbaijan culture" in accordance with the plan of events related to the declaration of the city of Shusha as the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2023.
First, the participants of the event commemorated the memory of our martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan with a minute of silence.
Prof. Adil Bakhshaliyev, dean of the faculty of History and geography opened the event with his opening speech, greeted the participants and spoke about the importance of the event, said that the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of independent Azerbaijan, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, and one of the irreplaceable leaders of the Turkic world is celebrated. At the same time, the city of Shusha was declared as the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2023, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of TURKSOY is celebrated with great pleasure in the Turkic world.
The dean also noted that today Shusha and the whole of Karabakh are experiencing a period of revival. Since the victory,intensive work is implemented under the direct leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to restore the historical and cultural image of the city of Shusha, in the direction of the comprehensive restoration and reconstruction of our cities, villages, historical and cultural monuments, destroyed forest and the entire residential infrastructure . Various local and international cultural events are held in Shusha by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, headed by the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva.
Then Afag Ganiyeva, associate professor of the department of Philosophy, sociology and political science, gave a speech on "Shusha, the temple of Azerbaijani culture". She pointed out that the city of Shusha, which is considered the cultural capital of Azerbaijan and the pearl of the entire Caucasus, is the crown of Karabakh.
Later, the students of the faculty, Abulfaz Mammadov, spoke on the topics "Shusha as the capital of the Karabakh Khanate and a rare example of urban planning culture", Ismayil Abdulov "Great Leader Heydar Aliyev"s care for Shusha, a city of rich historical monuments", Samir Ismayilov "Shusha is a masterpiece of the Great Return". They noted that one of the directions of Heydar Aliyev"s activity was the awakening of the national spirit in Karabakh. Heydar Aliyev was well aware of the historical past of Shusha as an ancient cultural center of Azerbaijan, paid great attention to the development of this city during his first power. President Ilham Aliyev, who has always prioritized the national and state interests of Azerbaijan by successfully continuing the political course of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, November 8, 2020. He announced the release of Shusha and proudly noted that he fulfilled the Great Leader"s will in his address to the people from the Alley of Martyrs: "I am a happy man that I fulfilled my father"s will. We freed Shusha! This is a big Victory! The soul of our martyrs, the Great Leader is happy today! Let your eyes be clear Azerbaijan! May your eyes be clear, Azerbaijanis of the world! Dear Shusha, you are free! Dear Shusha, we are back! Dear Shusha, we will revive you!" Today there is an Azerbaijan that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev dreamed of, statehood lives in safe hands, Karabakh, its crown Shusha has been reunited with its historical owner, life is returning to our native country after 30 years.
