An educational event dedicated to March 1-World Civil Defense Day was held at the faculty of Chemistry and biology of SSU.

The event, which was held with the participation of university professors, teachers and students was opened by Gulnara Alakbarli senior lecturer of the department of Civil Defense, medical and physical training greeted the participants and talked about the importance of the event. She said that it was announced today by the decision of the International Civil Defense Organization and is celebrated as a mass humanitarian event every year in all continents. Azerbaijan joined this prestigious international organization in 1993. International Civil Defense Day is dedicated to a specific problem every year. Organizing the protection of the population, ensuring the preparation of the population in the field of emergency protection is the main task of the civil defense authorities. Ms. Gulnara also noted that the main goal of holding this event is to increase civil defense in the field of emergency situations, and to achieve prophylactic measures in order to prevent possible fire or explosion incidents.

At the event, visual aids and a video on the prevention and elimination of the consequences of emergency situations were shown, students' knowledge in the emergency situations was checked and their questions were answered.
