On December 8, an event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Sumgayit State University was held in the Opera studio with the organization of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University Student Youth Organization (ASPU SYO) and Baku Music Academy Student Youth Organization (BMA SYO).

At the event, Turan Karimli, Head of the department of Events and Work with Students of ASPU, Najaf Novruzov head of the department of Narimanov District Youth and Sports, Shahmar Taghiyev head of the department of Nasimi District Youth and Sports, Khasay Valiyev an employee of Sabail District Youth and Sports Department, Ulvi Guluzadeh an employee of Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations Union , Fidan Hasanova an employee of ASYOU , Nihat Aghayev chairman of  Baku Music Academy Student Youth Organization , chairman of Sumgayit State University Student Youth Organization (SSU SYO) Elmin Novruzlu, organization chairmen of a number of universities and colleges and 750 more than students participated.

The event started with the sounding of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Chairman of ASPU SYO Tahmasib Imamaliyev said that Sumgayit State University, which has made invaluable contributions to the development of the country's scientific and intellectual potential. It has taken successful steps in education by benefiting from advanced international experience, the successes of the national education system, and its 60-year-old rich traditions.

Elmin Novruzlu, the chairman of the Student Youth Organization of Sumgayit State University, greeted the guests, conveyed the greetings of rector professor Elkhan Huseynov and gave detailed information about the work done in connection with the anniversary at the university. He also talked about the contributions of Sumgayit State University to the education sector of Azerbaijan and the activities of the youth, and emphasized that Sumgayit State University has become the native place of every student.

Later, at the presentation of the "Buta" instrumental music ensemble of ASPU ,the songs "Sumgayit", "Hiraty", "Pearls of Karabakh", "Khudayar classification", "Azerbaijan", "Ince bellim" and "Gilavar" were played. "Oxu tar", "Komde's dreams", "Mother", "Men seni axtariram", "3rd prelude", "Paraphrase", "Scretso", "I will survive" were performed by students , and " Inci" dance group of   ASPU SYO presented a folk dance.

The event ended with the performance of the song "Shur rengi " by the "Buta" instrumental music ensemble of ASPU SYO.
