A round table dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Ahmad Javad's birth was organized at SSU
A round table dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the outstanding representative of Azerbaijani literature, the great poet Ahmet Javad " Yol ver Türkün bayrağına" was organized at Sumgayit State University by the faculty of Philology.
The head of the department of literature of Azerbaijan and foreign countries professor Avtandil Mammadov opened the event with his opening speech and said that the event was organized according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the birth of the great Azerbaijani poet Ahmad Javad.
Professor Avtandil Mammadov gave extensive information about the life and work of the great poet Ahmad Javad. He noted that the world of artistic and political ideas of Ahmad Javad is known in the literary environment and the general public as the most brilliant poet of the republican era. His activities in the field of Azerbaijan"s independence and state building, as well as his position, are characterized by the creation of bright examples of our new romantic and civic poetry. Ahmad Javad"s activity in the field of Azerbaijan"s independence and state building has always been an example for all generations.
Professors Astan Bayramov gave a report "National independence poet"and N. Isganderova "Ahmad Javad outstanding poet-translator". They noted that Ahmad Javad was always in the centre of social and political events, among the bright personalities of the time, he was subjected to severe repressions in the 1930s and became a victim of Soviet totalitarianism. Ahmad Javad has an exceptional position in the history of Azerbaijan"s literary and artistic thought, distinguished by his unique line of writing as a poet.
At the event, the third-year student of the faculty Gunel Ganbarova sang the poem"Goygol", and the fourth-year student Fariz Rajabov "Chirpınirdi Qara Dəniz". Other speakers presented interesting ideas about the life and work of Ahmad Javad.
It should be noted that this event dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Ahmad Javad was valuable for the poet ͗s creativity.
