Based on the relevant provisions of the State Program of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Strategic Development Plan for 2020-2025, approved by the Scientific Council of SSU envisages the creation of an Innovation Creativity Center at the university and the implementation of relevant works has begun.

With the order of R-29/1 dated 27.05.2022 of the rector of SSU professor Elkhan Huseynov a Working group, a Mentor group and an Expert group were established for the purpose of establishing and ensuring the efficient operation of the Innovation Creativity Center and the Action plan of the Working group was approved.

The members of the working group established on 07.10.2022 at Sumgayit State University for the purpose of establishing and ensuring the efficient operation of the Innovation Creativity Center in accordance with the works considered in the mentioned Action Plan professor Ramazan Mammadov vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, professor Javanshir Mammadov head of the department of Process automation and head of the Scientific department associate professor Samir Orujov visited the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan on a business trip, met with the officials of the Agency and gained experience in the direction of ensuring the efficient operation of the field of intellectual property rights at the university.

During the meeting, Gulnara Rustamova, advisor to the chairman of the Board of the Intellectual Property Agency Anar Huseynov, deputy director of the Patent Expertise Department, and Aydın Huseynov, the head of the department of Training, Publication and Innovations discussed the timely patenting of all ideas, inventions and other intellectual properties created in the ICC to be established at SSU.

At the meeting, it was decided to hold mutually important events and conclude agreements between the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and SSU in the relevant fields of activity.
