On October 4, a memorial complex was opened on Samad Vurgun Street, Haji Zeynalabdin settlement, in order to perpetuate the memory of Telman Nadir oghlu Abishov, a martyr of the 44-day Patriotic war.

Along with the martyr"s family members, comrades-in-arms, the families of martyrs, veterans, responsible employees of the Sumgayit City Executive Authority, MP Mushfiq Mammadli, school and kindergarten collectives, members of the Council of Village Elders and residents of Haji Zeynalabdin settlement, as well as a group of professors and students of the faculty of Philology of Sumgayit State University participated in the event.

First, the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, then the dear memory of our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Then the monument of Telman Abishov was opened and flowers were laid to the monument.

Gunduz Aliyev, head of the department of Territorial management and local self-governing bodies of the Sumgayit City Executive Authority, MP Mushfiq Mammadli, Lala Hajiyeva, the representative of the head of the Sumgayit City Executive Authority for the Haji Zeynalabdin settlement administrative area, associate professor Sevinj Hamzayeva, dean of the faculty of Philology of SSU, professor Astan Bayramov and other persons make a speech and talked about the bravery of the Azerbaijani army in the 44-day Patriotic war.

It was reported that Telman Nadir Abishov was born on October 3, 1995 in Sumgait city. He fought in the battles for the freedom of Fuzuli and Shusha. On November 10, he reached to the peak of martyrdom in Shusha and was buried in Sumgait Martyrs" Alley. Telman Abishov was posthumously awarded with the medals "Vətən uğrunda" ("For the Motherland"), ","Füzulinin azad olunmasına görə" ( "For the Liberation of Fuzuli"), "İgidliyə görə" ("For Courage") according to the Orders of the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev for participating in military operations to ensure the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and honorably fulfilling his duties during the execution of the tasks assigned to the military unit.

The families of martyrs and veterans expressed their gratitude to President Mr. Ilham Aliyev and First vice president Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention and care shown to them.

The event was continued with poems sung by school children in the spirit of patriotism.
