From September 19 to 23, associate professor Zafar Huseynov, advisor of the rector of Sumgayit State University, and head of the department of Quality Assurance in Education, senior lecturer Narmin Hasanova, were on a business trip to Germany

They visited the prestigious German accreditation body ASIIN (German International Accreditation Agency) located in Düsseldorf. The main purpose of the visit was to hold preliminary discussions on the international accreditation of 3 study programs of the faculty of Engineering, to know  the pre-accreditation procedure, and to prepare self-assessment reports in accordance with the rules and guidelines of the ASIIN. Extensive discussions were held with executive director of ASIIN Dr. Iring Wasser and the project manager of the agency  Paulina Petrachenko, about the international accreditation of study  programs, and a corresponding agreement was made. During the meeting, the dates of preparation of self-analysis reports, submission to the agency and the visit of international experts to SSU were defined.

On September 21, the delegation of SSU visited Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).The following participants attended in meeting: the head of the department of Metalworking Machine Tools of BTU and the deputy dean of the faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Systems, prof. Dr. Silvia Simon, other academic staff of the university, our compatriots Ilgar Abbasov, a doctoral student of BTU, and a scientific employee Dashgin Turabov. Not for information prof. Dr. Silvia Simon is an Honorary doctor of Azerbaijan Technical University. As part of the visit, they were  in the laboratories and auditoriums of BTU equipped with the latest modern equipment. Discussions were held between SSU and BTU on cooperation in the field of science and education. Narmin Hasanova head of the department of quality assurance in education,  performed a  video presentation about SSU.

Prof. Dr. Silvia Simon invited the students of SSU to Germany in the summer to participate in internship programs at BTU. The delegation of SSU, in turn  invited  prof. Dr.Simon   conducting lectures at SSU. In the near future, an agreement was reached between both universities to organize a meeting in an online format for a detailed discussion of mutual cooperation in the field of science and education.
