SSU gained an Academic Impact certificate of UN
One of the 7 main goals set in accordance with the Strategic Development Plan of Sumgayit State University is the transformation of the higher education institution into a high-ranking university. In order to ensure the representation of SSU in international rankings, large-scale works have been started. In accordance with our target strategy, the profile of SSU was created in the world rating databases and methodologies are developed according to each rating.
SSU has presented to the Academic Impact Network in the form of a link-based report that its activities cover the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN. On July 6, 2022, SSU became a member of the UN Academic Impact Network and was awarded a certificate signed by the head of the UN Global Communications Department Robert Skinner. The certificate and membership booklet were submitted electronically.

The UN Academic Impact Network was established in 2010 by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon to relate universities worldwide more closely with the United Nations, promote global priorities including peace, human rights and sustainable development, and educate future generations through research and innovation. Its 1,500 member organizations in 147 countries reach around 25 million people working in the education and research sectors worldwide.
We should note that annually Times Higher Education (THE) one of the world"s most influential rating organizations publishes the ranking table based on the "Sustainable Development Goals" of the UN identifying the best universities in the world, distinguished by their social and economic contributions.
