A group of teachers and students of the faculty of Philology were in the Museum of Victims of Political Repression
The 130th anniversary of the birth of Ahmad Javad (Javad Mahammadali oglu Akhundzadeh) is marked on May 2022 a prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature, a great poet, well-known educator and public figure. In this regard, a group of teachers and students of the faculty of Philology of SSU went to the Museum of Victims of Political Repression under the State Border Service in Baku on May 28.
Dean of the faculty of Philology, associate professor Sevinj Hamzayeva head of the department of Azerbaijani Language and its teaching methods, assoc. prof.Boyukkhanim Eminli, teachers of the same department, assoc. prof. Khayala Mursaliyeva and Elnara Ahmadova, teachers of  the department of literature of Azerbaijan and foreign countries, assoc. prof. Tora Mammadova and senior lecturer Ilaha Veliyeva, chairman of the Trade Union Committee Tayfun Hajili  participated  in the excursion  as well as activists of the faculty, the Student Youth Organization, Student Scientific Society.
Students were informed that the museum's exposition reflects the most sorrowful  pages of Azerbaijan's history, as a result of the policy pursued by the Soviet state in 1920-1950, tens of thousands of public and state figures, representatives of science, culture, art and ordinary citizens were repressed.
Despite the acquittal of victims of political repression in the second half of the 1950s, the Law on the Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression, signed by the great leader Heydar Aliyev on March 15, 1996, prohibits the dissemination of information about political repressions during the years of Bolshevism. It was reported that the events were given a legal assessment for the first time.
