On May 31 an educational event was held on "Family conflicts, domestic violence is a common problem of the state and society" organized by the Student Scientific Society of the faculty of History and geography at Sumgayit State University.
Prof. Adil Bakhshaliyev, dean of the faculty of History and geography spoke about the importance of the issue, noting that the problems of domestic violence are still relevant and have a negative impact on society as a social scourge.
Almost in all families, domestic violence reveals itself in various forms. Some people experience this in the form of physical and sexual violence, others in the form of psychological pressure and isolation. One of the main serious consequences of domestic violence for society is children with spiritual trauma.
Afterwards, the dean informed about the work done to implement the relevant items of the "National Action Plan to Combat Domestic Violence in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020-2023" and noted that one of the most important problems in the world today is the prevention of domestic violence. In addition to a strong legal framework and state support, society, especially civil society must respond adequately to violence.
Our women, especially girls living in the regions should be involved in education, and serious public condemnation and severe punishment should be implemented in the struggle against early marriage.
Head of SSS Dilshad Suleymanli, head of the department of Philosophy, sociology and political science Zahid Bunyadov and students said that domestic violence is a threat to the security of not only one family, but also society, spoke about the struggle against domestic violence, its comprehensive approach to society.
Then a video on domestic violence was shown, and discussions were held on the topic.
