The second phase of the trainings ended organized by the US Embassy in Azerbaijan and SSU
On October 18, trainings for the academic staff of SSU were launched within the Fellowship program with the financial support of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan and the initiative of the department of International Cooperation and foreign students.
As we have informed, the training which started on February 21, 2022 the second phase of the training was organized for the teaching staff of the university who teach other subjects.
The aim of the 15-week English for Academic Purposes training is to develop the academic staff"s English language skills and increase the potential for the future English language teaching process.
Members of the teaching staff from all faculties of the university were involved in the classes conducted by Michael Moak, an English language teaching methodologist and TESOL specialist, presented by the US Embassy in Azerbaijan. The course program included teaching the correct use of grammatical rules, correct reading and speaking skills in English.
At the end of the training, a final exam consisting of an online test, exercise and essay was held. The results of the exam will be announced soon. High-achieving trainees will be awarded certificates by the US Embassy.
We should say that the next stage of the training - III - is planned.
