An  international scientific conference was held jointly organized by Sumgayit State University and Yildiz Technical University about  "Strategic directions of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey" on May 26.

A group of scientists from Yildiz Technical University participated in the international scientific conference, met with the rector of Sumgayit State University professor Elkhan Huseynov  on May 27.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the guests and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the universities. He spoke about the mutual benefits of successful joint activities between YTU and SSU. He noted that Sumgayit State University is expanding its scientific ties day by day, taking important successful steps in the direction of teacher-student mobility. SSU closely cooperates with many leading universities of the world and Turkey in order to train highly qualified personnel.

Speaking about the university, the rector said that SSU is on the eve of its 60th anniversary, and for the first time a Dissertation Council was established at the request of the Academic Council. At present, the university has 3 Dissertation Councils in 6 specialties. This also contributes to the development of human resources in our country. At the same time, SSU is a member of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association and successfully continues to act as the co-chair of the Association from the Azerbaijani side, helping to increase the intellectual potential of our countries. Such relations create a basis for mutual exchange of experience, the implementation of joint innovative projects, which  has a positive impact on cooperation between higher education institutions and the quality of education in general.

In his speech, rector professor Elkhan Huseynov praised the political and moral support provided by the brotherly country during the 44-day war, and expressed his gratitude to the Turkish people. He said that Turkish-Azerbaijani relations are developing quickly. No force can stop this development.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov evaluated  the conference organized by Sumgayit State University and Yildiz Technical University, and then discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the universities.

Dean of the faculty of Economics and management of Yildiz Technical University, Ppofessor Halit Keskin and professor of the faculty Cemal Zehir conveyed the greetings of the rector of the university professor Tamer Yilmaz, and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the universities of the two  countries. They noted that mutually beneficial projects will be implemented between YTU and SSU.

The sides exchanged views on the development of cooperation between the two universities.

Then the parties exchanged gifts.

The guests visited the Heydar Aliyev Center at the university. The director of the center Tarana Namazova gave detailed information to the guests about the establishment of the center, its activities, the political activities of the national leader.
