From March 29 to 30, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized an online training on international dual degree programs for representatives of higher education institutions, as well as some components of internationalization within the European Commission's TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange) program. Tural Ahmadov head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nijat Mammadli, Adviser to the Minister of Education, representatives of Azerbaijani higher education institutions attended  as well as Eva Garea Oya, Expert of National and European Universities on International relations and International projects from Spain and Rafael de Paz Uruena, director of Leon Internationalization service .

The purpose of the training was to study the EU's best practices in the internationalization of higher education in Azerbaijani universities and to get acquainted with international dual degree programs.

On the first day of the training, Advisor to the Minister of Education Nijat Mammadli opened the event by welcoming the participants and emphasizing the importance of dual degree programs in the internationalization of universities.

Eva Garea Oya made a presentation on "Development and implementation of international double degree programs", Rafael de Paz Uruena made a presentation on "Strategies for the internationalization of universities and the admission of foreign students."

On the second day of the event, Eva Garea Oya presented “International Dual Diploma Programs: Erasmus Mundus Exchange Programs and Academic Mobility Projects” and “Internationalization of Universities: Participation in International Rankings”; Rafael de Paz Uruena spoke on "Credit Transfer and Mutual Recognition".

At the end, Sevinj Mammadova, program director of George Washington University, USA, spoke about the challenges and recommendations of the dual degree program between Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and George Washington University.

It should be noted that the training was attended by Sadagat Fatullayeva, head of the International Cooperation and foreign students department of Sumgayit State University and Narmin Hasanova head of the Quality Assurance Department.
