On March 17, at the faculty of  history and geography  with the support of the Student Trade Union Committee and  the Student Youth Organization, a knowledge contest "Intellects of the Faculty" dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Sumgayit State University was held. The competition was opened by the dean of the faculty  professor Adil Bakhshaliyev. He noted that the purpose of the competition is to create conditions for strengthening competition among  the students and raising their intellectual level, to effectively organize the development of their talents. The competition consisted of two stages and was held in different formats. In the first stage, it was held in a test-written format with the participation of 50 volunteer students. The questions were sounded orally and consisted of 30 questions. In the second stage, the first 15 students selected from the previous stage took part in the tournament. Winners were determined among them. 5 students participating in the competition within the "Intellects of the Faculty" project would  be awarded with diplomas and certificates.
