THE EXAM SESSION OF THE SPRING SEMESTER AT SSU IS BEING HELD IN A DISTANCE FORM
On May 8, 2021, the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Emin Amrullayev, signed Order No. F-215 "On the Organization and Conduct of Examination Sessions". The order states that the heads of higher and secondary vocational education institutions of the country must ensure the organization of the examination session of the spring semester of 2020-2021 academic year on the basis of existing normative documents, establish an Examination Headquarters in the educational institutions. Every complaint received by the Examination Headquarters should be promptly investigated, and measures should be taken in accordance with the existing legislation against those who have committed shortcomings in the organization and conduct of examinations.
Rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov signed a relevant order "On the organization and holding of the examination session of the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year" to ensure the implementation of this order. It should be noted that the order envisages the application of discounts for students announced by the decision of the Academic Council of SSU on 02.10.2020 during the current and interim assessment of students in the exam session of the spring semester, organized and held in a special quarantine regime. Thus, taking into account the application of a special quarantine regime at universities and the limited opportunities for distance learning from the regions, the 50% attendance limit is abolished and all students are admitted to the exams. The number of pre-determined independent work was reduced from 10 to 2. Students who do not attend classes or do not score at all during the semester are given 20 points as entrance exams - 10 points for independent work and 10 points for classes and laboratory classes. Exam questions were reduced to 90. It should be noted that an 8-member appeal commission headed by Sona Maharramova will operate at Sumgayit State University to monitor the examination session and ensure the timely and prompt resolution of possible complaints. At the same time, in order to promptly eliminate the problems that may arise in the online examination process, a 14-member examination staff was established under the leadership of Associate Professor Natig Talibov.
In general, the transparent, fair and objective conduct of the exam session of the spring semester is in the focus of the leadership of SSU.
