OUR EMPLOYEES TOOK PART IN A WEBINAR ON "NATURAL RESOURCES OF KARABAKH"

The Baku Higher Oil School and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources jointly organized a webinar on "Natural Resources of Karabakh". Extensive discussions on the rich natural resources of Karabakh were held at the webinar held on the ZOOM platform. Rector of Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Gasimov, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology, MP Sadig Gurbanov, Chief of the National Geological Survey of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Ali Aliyev and Associate Professor of Department of Oil and Gas Engineering of BHOS Gasham Zeynalov acted as a speaker. Rector of the Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Gasimov said that one of the main reasons for Armenia's occupation of Azerbaijani lands is that these areas are rich in natural resources, including water, forests and land resources. The rector noted that many decrees and orders issued by the so-called Nagorno-Karabakh regime served to plunder natural resources. "In general, the term NagornoKarabakh should not be used. This term has no geographical or historical basis. It should be called the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. We suggest that each university study the history of Karabakh, tourism and logistics opportunities, etc. in accordance with its profile, "Gasimov said. Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology, MP Sadig Gurbanov noted that our mineral resources, which bring billions of US dollars, were easily looted by Armenians. He said that the amount of damage caused by the looting of minerals will be determined through accurate research. Ali Aliyev, Chief of the National Geological Survey of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, said that 163 different types of mineral deposits were discovered in the territories occupied by Armenia during the pre-occupation period, including: 4 gold, 7 mercury, 2 copper and 1 lead and zinc, 1 coal, 7 gypsum, 4 vermiculite, 1 soda raw material, 12 non-ferrous and decorative stones (obsidian, marbled onyx, jasper, etc.), 10 sawn stone, 21 facing stone, 10 clay, 21 cement raw material, 8 different types of building stones, 6 limestone raw materials, 11 sand-gravel, 4 construction sands, 1 perlite, 8 pumice-volcanic ash, 16 underground freshwater and 10 mineral water deposits. The head of the service noted that a total of 561 deposits and promising mineralization areas had been identified in the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan occupied by the Armenian armed forces. It was noted at the webinar that on the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, along with the damage caused by Armenia to Azerbaijan in our occupied territories - property, infrastructure, cultural monuments, a comprehensive assessment of the illegal exploitation of Azerbaijan's natural resources is also being conducted. The aim is to take all necessary measures to bring the political leadership of the hostile country to justice. It should be noted that the webinar was attended by employees of Sumgayit State University, Associate Professor Rahila Ahmadova and employees of the Department of Ecology, Professors Akbar Agayev, Tahir Agayev, Ilham Mardanov, Associate Professor Samir Orujov and others.
