In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic in the country, in accordance with the instructions and recommendations of the Ministry of Education, the teaching process in all faculties of Sumgayit State University, including the Faculty of History and Geography, has been organized online and offline.

Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography, Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev said that as a society, each of us has certain responsibilities during the quarantine days. These days, we teachers and intellectuals have a greater responsibility. Due to the situation, from March 12, classes at the Faculty of History and Geography were held online on the WhatsApp group. Thus, Whatsapp groups were created for all subjects in each group, and lecturers and seminar teachers joined these groups. Materials were also sent to students" e-mail addresses. The seminar teachers gave questions to the students in the created Whatsapp groups.

For better organization of online lessons, all teachers of the faculty and 26 groups in the full-time department on I, II, III, IV courses at the bachelor"s level, 3 groups in the part-time department, the first course at the master"s level have registered on moodle.sdu.edu.az and "Microsoft Teams" platform and started classes. Classes are also held on the base of schedules via video lessons. It should be noted that all teaching materials and exam questions are posted on both electronic portals. In this process, the graduation groups were not forgotten, and students who will take the state exam were given the questions’ list. Supervisors regularly communicate with bachelor students who write graduation work and masters who write a dissertation, and deliver the necessary materials to them.

The dean also noted that the organization of classes in this way is welcomed by parents and students.
