On May 2, the following “Open door” day held at Sumgayit State University by the participation of parents, representatives of non-governmental organizations and media. Information was posted in advance on sdu.edu.az about arrangement of “Open door” day.

Vice-rector on Humanitarian Issues docent Ramiz Huseynov met the guests and gave information about executed works in the university. “Sumgayit State University calls special attention to forming students’ aesthetic taste, along with teaching and educating them. Since the true student has to own high morality, culture, national and spiritual values of our nation and should be able to convey those values to future generations. Recently, cadre potential of Sumgayit State University is renewed with its alumni. Our graduates work as a laboratory worker, specialist and lecturer in the university”.

Vice-rector also noted: “Spring exam session is about to start. The works are being executed for organizing exam process objectively and transparently. Effective circumstances created for students for preserving transparency of exams and Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov calls special attention to upgrade knowledge level of students”.

Afterwards, the parents viewed lessons in different auditoria with Media representatives.

They got acquainted with created circumstances for students, about teaching and scientific-research laboratories, auditoria which were equipped with smart boards and observed lessons via control systems equipped with cameras, set up in the dean office of Engineering faculty. The parents and media representatives took part at the lessons and heard lectures in History and geography faculty, Economics and management faculty, Mathematics faculty. They watched experiments undertaken visually in the laboratories of Chemistry and biology faculty, Physics and electroenergetics faculty, Engineering faculty. Their questions were responded, suggestions heard. One of the parents asked about preparation courses for students, who want to prepare for and gain entry to a master's degree. It was pointed out that university administration is taking some measures in this direction. And also Linguistic Center is functioning at our university with free language courses for improving language skills of students.

Then the guests got acquainted with football pitch with artificial coating, volleyball, badminton and basketball pitches, outdoor chess. Our sportsmen students gain achievements in Republican, European, Asian and global competitions.

Representatives of media, NGO and parents appreciated created circumstances for students and expressed their positive opinions. They thanked to university administration for created circumstances and wished success to university and students.
