TEACHER AND STUDENT STAFF OF UNIVERSITY VISITED “GUBA GENOCIDE MEMORIAL COMPLEX”
On March 30, teacher and student staff of SSU visited Guba mass cemetery, located in the north of Guba city, by the organization of Student Trade Union Committee for commemorating our national and spiritual values, historical monuments. They put a bunch of flowers in front of the monument in Guba Genocide Memorial Complex, which eternalizes the memory of victims.
The specialists of Complex gave the attendees wide information about events that occurred in 1918 and showed them documents and some facts. The students got informed on genocide committed by Armenians. It was noted that the genocide cemetery was revealed during excavations in Guba on April 1, 2007. In 2009, it was started to build Genocide Memorial Complex in Guba by the Order of President Ilham Aliyev and in 2013 Complex opened. Genocide history of Muslim people in Baku, Shamakhi, Guba, Javad and Goychay committed in March-July, 1918 is reflected at the exposition of monument-museum. Museum exposition, which consists of 19 sections, is presented in Azerbaijani, Russian and English. Exposition displays the photos reflecting life of people in Guba on the eve of events in 1918. There also exhibited the photos of Azerbaijanis, lezgis and other nations and the people of various social layers.
