FUTURE PHYSICISTS WERE ON EXCURSION AT ETHYLENE-POLYETHYLENE PLANT
On December 1, the students of specialty of Electroenergetics, Electrical and Thermal energetics engineering of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics and a group of lecturers of the Departments of Electrotechnics and energetics and Electromechanics were on excursion for getting acquainted with equipment and production processes of Ethylene-Polyethylene plant of “Azerchemistry” PU.
Chief engineer of the plant Nadir Aliyev and head of the Department of Labor protection and ecology Mahir Aliyev welcomed our delegation sincerely in Ethylene-Polyethylene plant of “Azerchemistry” PU and gave wide information about the plant.
At first, they divided students into groups, held technical security instruction and provided everyone with helmet. Nadir Aliyev spoke about departments and equipment of the plant and noted that Ethylene-Polyethylene plant of “Azerchemistry” PU has been functioning since 1989. The plant’s work consists of 4 type of production: Ethylene production – “EP-300”, Polyethylene production – “Polymer-120”, Steam and electric power production and Isopropyl alcohol production. It was also pointed out that high fire-explosion hazardous products like methane, ethane, ethylene, butylene-divinyl fraction are produced and used in the plant.
Chief engineer of the plant Nadir Aliyev and head of the Department of Labor protection and ecology Mahir Aliyev responded all questions of the students. The students expressed their gratitude for the organization of the excursion to rector of Sumgayit State University Professor Elkhan Huseynov, dean of the Faculty docent Tamella Ahmadova, general director of SOCAR “Azerchemistry” PU Imran Arzumanzade, Chief engineer of the plant Nadir Aliyev and head of the Department of Labor protection and ecology Mahir Aliyev.
