On December 7, Academician Ramil Bakhtizin, the rector of Ufa State Oil Technical University, Russian co-chair of Association of Russian-Azerbaijan Universities visited our University on occasion of 55th Anniversary of Sumgayit State University. 

Rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the guests, expressed his gratitude for seeing them in the University and emphasized the historical significance of the event. He widely spoke about sincere relations among two countries, the history of the university, as well its activity and international cooperation. Presently, Sumgayit State University collaborates with several prestigious higher educational institutions in the world. The rector notified that, our University is the member of Caspian State Universities and Association of Azerbaijan-Russian Universities. By expanding its international relations, our university plays a significant role in integration of our country to the world. 

Rector noted that, the memorandum was signed on establishment of Association of Azerbaijan-Russian Universities in 2015. The agreement was signed by Sumgayit State University and Ufa State Oil Technical University. Evaluating the establishment of Association as a substantial occasion, the rector pointed out that, according to proper paragraphs of signed agreement, scholars, lecturers and students visited Ufa State Oil Technical University several times and participated in scientific conferences, Forums of Association of Azerbaijan-Russian Universities, as well as in Student forums. The co-workers of USOTU participate regularly in scientific conferences held in SSU and publish the results of their scientific-research works in journals of “Scientific News” of both countries. Academician Ramil Bakhtizin was a guest of SSU several times, met with co-workers and students. It shows the prestige of our University.  

Rector declared the order of Scientific Council dated November 8, 2017 about awarding Academician Ramil Nazifovich Bakhtizin, rector of Ufa State Oil Technical University, Russian co-chair of Association of Russian-Azerbaijan Universities with the title of Honorary Doctor of SSU. 

Afterwards, Ramil Bakhtizin expressed his satisfaction on being in SSU and meeting with professor-teaching staff of the University. He noted that, it is an important event for him to be awarded with the title of Honorary Doctor of SSU and this title will contribute to expansion of friendship and partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan. He expressed his gratitude to Scientific Council of the University for the given title.
