Presentation of an Improved Version of Electronic Management System Was Held

On July 17, presentation of an improved version of electronic management system was held at the university.
The presentation was held with participation of rector, professor-teaching staff and structural managers. Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov talked about recent work for improvement of university management and conducted reforms. He noted that the transition to electronic management in educational system is already requirement of time. Dynamic development of information and communication technologies in Azerbaijan has made more actual the informatizing problem of education system. Some profiles are almost totally made electronic. Application of information-communication technologies to education is crucially important for formation of Azerbaijani citizens’ new generation which has modern knowledge and skills. President Ilham Aliyev is also interested in development of ICT. In recent years, advancement of ICT infrastructure in educational system and making the application of ICT in education to reach the level of the world standards have become one of priorities.
Qafar Atayev, docent, vice-rector on correspondent, distant and additional education informed that registration of students and teachers, its management, generating syllabuses and schedule of subjects, assessment of students, exams, conduct of surveys among students, internal correspondence and forums, as well as library, accounting are automatized. Students and parents can enter educational management system via their personal identifier and passwords at any time and any place in mobile way and get relevant information. The application of new system will automatize all stages of education and ensure transparency. Nowadays, advanced ICT is an important indicator of intellectual and scientific potential of a country and its importance is observed more than ever because of globalization. Rapid development and spread of these technologies open wide opportunities for the progress of humanity. Vice-rector also noted that Ministry of Education announced 2010 as “ICT year in education” and conferences, seminars, various stimulating and encouraging actions, competitions were held within the framework of this campaign. “Government strategy on development of education in Azerbaijan Republic” approved by Azerbaijan President’s order dated 2013, October 24 targeted the application of ICT in education. All these are outcomes of state care about education.
Vusal Haqverdiyev, director of Information technologies center, informing attendees about electronic management system noted that the registration process of new students has totally been made in electronic way. Innovations are made in the system according to the order relating credit system by Ministry of Education. Full-time and part-time education forms are considered. Vusal Haqverdiyev also drew attention to preparation of student cards in new electronic form. At the same time, QR code is replaced in the cards. Students will be able to get acquainted with all information about marks, orders, fees and everything relating the university.
Atiq Aliyev who is an engineer-programmer provided information about application of virtual laboratories at SSU. He said that virtual laboratory was established with the aim of effective usage of computational power and centralized management. Use of interactive boards and virtual laboratory programs in teaching process is one of the main principles of a lesson and it provides visuals.
In the presentation vice-rector for teaching and learning technologies docent Natig Talibov informed on implementation of the decision №257 dated June 14, 2017 received by Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan Republic which intends to give chance to repeat the exam to the students who have academic debts.
At the end of the presentation, the problem of trainings for adoption of rules for working with new software was discussed.
