Today hundreds of students bid farewell to university and student life. Students graduated the university. Memories of student years are left behind now.
On June 30, Sumgayit State University graduated its students. On this occasion graduation ceremony was held at the university. Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov, student-teacher staff of the university, representatives of Sumgayit City Executive Power and other guests participated in the event. The ceremony was opened with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan. Congratulating the graduates on a remarkable day Elkhan Huseynov expressed his best wishes. Rector noted that SSU prepares competent specialists for the country and gave broad information about the work, education system, success and international relations of the university and reforms relating the development of education in the republic. He spoke about the care for education in the country and said that the graduates contribute to the development of science in Azerbaijan. Rector talked about President Ilham Aliyev’s care and attention to science and education. He also noted the importance of documents signed by the President. Moreover, he said that owing to Ilham Aliyev’s care and support, education of Azerbaijan integrated into world education system. Reforms in the field of education, realization of state programs, holding competitions show that education is in President’s center of attention. 
Rector also notified that in recent years special attention is paid on youth policy. Young people are always in search, they are leading power with rich ideas and they like novelty. Today, youth policy is one of the prior issues in Azerbaijan. Comprehensive development of youth is closely connected with socio-economic, scientific and cultural prosperity. Rector once again congratulating the students advised them to keep in touch with the university and that they are always welcome to the university.
Hasan Sadigov, Professor of the university congratulated the collective of the university and graduates, wished them luck in future activities.Our former graduate, the representative of Sumgayit Executive Power on Jorat settlement Jamil Guliyev, as well as Lerik executive representative Aflatun Bayramov on behalf of parents and others congratulated on graduation day and 55th anniversary of our university, wished their best regards.Ibrahim Zeynalli, graduate of history and geography faculty talked about government care for youth and promised always to hold SSU’s name in high regard.
Then, honorary certificates and keepsakes were introduced to some graduates for high achievements and being active in social life of the university. Elkhan Huseynov presented honorary diploma to Samir Chiragov, master graduate of economy and management faculty and noted that he will be employed by the university.
In the artistic part of the event amateur collective of the university, as well as famous artists of Azerbaijan Niyameddin Musayev, Ruhangiz Allahverdiyeva, ahug Samira and others participated and congratulated the graduates.
